Beijing Playhouse, China's English community theatre presents contemporary live semi-professional theatre productions of shows like The Sound of Music and A Christmas Carol, and Neil Simon's comedy The Odd Couple. Performed in English with Chinese subtitles. Professional acting experience not necessary. We love discovering new talent. Nationality not important. Ability to perform in English is required.
The Beijing Playhouse is a pioneer in community theater for the expat. Imagine the community theater in your hometown, now add an international montage with a Chinese overtone and you've got a crazy mix of fun and talent in one little group. It's a shame that community theater in China is even less profitable than community theater in the US or other Western countries. Let's keep it alive!
