This student stronghold was the first bar in Wudaokou catering to foreign students. An eatery by day serving up home-away-from-home sandwiches, it becomes a hopping bar at night with special events scheduled throughout the week, including open-mic nights, live music and movie nights.

I can easily say every visit I've had at Lush has been a great visit. Their sand/salad/drink set menu for 40 RMB is always a winner, as well at the Lush burgers, which are a well spent 50 RMB, and in my opinion, the best in Beijing. The staff at Lush are always very hospitable and there is always something happening! Another gerat thing about this place is they make all of the salad dressings, and other condiments from scratch, yummy! I'm there every Wednesday to compete in the MOST DIFFICULT pub quiz, of which my team is usually the receiver of a well deserved bottle of Jack. All I can say, is keep up the great work guys!

This place has a total student vibe and should be considered that. But with that being said the drinks tend to be a little on the expensive side. The food is standard american cuisine which they do well.

Favorite hang-out in Beijing. They have great burgers, their drinks are always strong and consistently a busy crowd. Their open mic night on Sundays are the best night of the week.

I'm always impressed with Lush. I practically lived here when I was a student in Wudaokou. After staying away from the university district for a couple years, I revisited Lush this spring, and again last night. The food is so good, and excellent value. I always get the delicious veggie bagel, made with homemade ranch dressing. Last night I also had some French fries, which were really, really good, and the super messy, indulgent mud pie for dessert. Everything is reasonably priced for a student budget, and service isn't bad, either. Lush is the ONLY thing I miss about Wudaokou, and I love every one of my now-rare visits.

Good times at quiz night although getting a table is an operation.Edgy loners guard seats with bags, jackets and quick/rehearsed responses to questions of availability. Show up at least an hour before hand to avoid standing around at the bar and pussy foot dancing around everyone who wants to get by. Prices are a bit ridiculous outside of the Qingdao deal.

Lush is good for having a quick bite and you can be sure things will not go wrong. Prices are fine for the consistency . Good for a casual talk with a collegue or you are too tired n relax for a coffee or beer and then head home.

I think the YY40 for a burger is one of the best investments you can make for the day given the deliciousness you get to dig into when the plate arrives at the table. It's not hefty. There isn't much glitz and flash. But it's a burger you can be proud to eat.

Speaking of burgers. They are good value at thursdays (before 16.00 or something) when you get them for 15 yuan. Apart from that, they are not even close to beeing worth 35+. If you are looking to spend that, go to the japanese restaurant four doors closer to Propaganda.
Even the now expensive "Stuff" (foccacia) is better than the burgers IMO.

Their burgers are decent, and Wednesday Quiz Bowl nights are always a TON of fun. But steer away from their milkshakes, which sure were tasty at the time, but left me violently ill afterwards. Uhh, no thanks.

Price increase again, this time by a whooping 1/6 of the original price. Furthermore, the regulars card only works for a select few dishes recently.
All in all, its a bad trend. Lush was in the very upper monetary tier for breakfast/lunch, but now broke the 30 yuan line, making me reluctant to go there regularily. I hope this will change back, as I surely was a regular.

Lush has really priced themselves out of the Wudaokou drinking market with the recent increase to 20 kuai Tsingtaos. As a restaurant or café, though, it’s still a great destination. The stuffs (really just sandwiches) are great, and a better deal than burgers. If you go just for coffee and study, bring a little appetite, because an extra 5 kuai gets yogurt and granola (the “Urban Native”) on top of your coffee. I go for breakfast and lunch all the time, but the Y20 Tsingtaos and 20-deep crews of students are not my idea of great night-life.

Lush is a neat place to hang about, and at sundays they host an open mic event, which trully packs the place. Be sure to come early on sundays!
The location of Lush is nice, and it is a place I can recommend and will likely frequent.

Cheap drinks, great place to chat and relax, with open mic and movie nights. Just great place and must visit.

This is a really nice bar with great western dishes and lovely drinks. The perfect place for language exchange and just having a chat with your classmates. For breakfast I would definitely recommend the Flipflop. two tasty American style pancakes with some French toast on the side.

Sunday night live music is really interactive between stage and hot audience. last weekend a table a mexican chics were crazy.

I went to Lush few Saturdays ago for lunch. Me and my friend ordered a Ceasar wrap and a burger.
It took some while to get our drinks but even longer to get our food. 50 minutes. They had given our food to the wrong people, but noticed the mistake only after the other guys had already finished our food.. No apologies, no nothing. In the end the burger was good, but my tortilla wrap was so dry that even the nice filling didnt save it. Ive been to Lush many times for many years but this was just annoying.
