A great place for both chatty coffee afternoons and solid lunches, this Sanlitun SOHO café offers a broad range of Continental cuisine—think savory and sweet crepes, standard sandwiches and a solid salad selection. The smoked salmon and cream cheese rolls are a delight, and the Moment salad set is a great value.

Went to Moment Gastronomy for dinner the other night with my boyfriend and we were pleasantly surprised. Even though location is in a faraway basement corner of SOHO, the outdoor seating was still very pleasant and I liked that it was so isolated and tucked away from the noise of the street. There was loud music coming from a bar near by but it did not bother us. We were given a great salad recommendation (on the seasonal menu -I can't remember the name of the dish, had chicken, honey, dried fruit, nuts) and ordered two sandwiches. The salad was the highlight, although the sandwiches were very good as well. We also ordered a hot chocolate (original) and a desert of ice cream with cappuccino. Both were very good and the hot chocolate really surprised me in a great way -so similar to the ones I've had in Serbia! More like hot chocolate pudding, I love it! Service was great and the staff all speak good English. Although, we do feel Moment has room for improvement. The ice tea was unexpectedly ice tea that can be bought at any supermarket. One of the sandwiches -the Rustico I believe- we thought was a bit plain. Although I have to say, I still really liked it.
Also, the interior looked very welcoming and we will definitely be back to check it out. -

The best sandwiches in the SLT area. Horrible location but good sandwiches. Comfortable seating inside with seating outside that will no doubt be popular come the sweltering months ahead. Worth the trip!

Fun times at moment. had a really nice lunch completely ruined when i tried to get a fapiao. the waitstaff told me they were out of fapiao and asked me to come back the next day. when i politely insisted that i had better things to do than make a special return visit, the manager ( i can only assume that the foriegner behind the counter was the manager) told me and i quote "don't be an idiot." this was in front of my lunch partner other patrons and the waitstaff. really now. trying get a fapiao is " being an idiot"? utterly shameful service mentality from a cafe that otherwise serves very decent food.

In need of a sweet fix after a disappointing dinner, my friend and I tottered over to Moment. She'd raved about the crepes - I needed to see for myself. Golly gosh, they were goooooooooood.
Goran (not Ivanisevic off the tennis) was rushed off his feet dealing with a party, but managed to whip up a Crepe Mia specially for us. We took a seat outside despite the fact it was a chilly Friday night we were that desperate to eat it. It didn't matter that we were shivering in the cold - the crepe was incredible. Not too stodgy, perfect layering of nutella, sprinkled with cookie crumbs; it was just divine, I could have had two. Even the smokers near us stopped mid puff to turn and see what the fuss was all about.
My friend says lunches here are amazing, particularly the spicy chicken sandwich that everyone is raving about (indiavolato). Despite a hectic Saturday ahead, I plan on going back tomorrow and although the location is out of the way (opposite Ssam) it's definitely worth the trip.

Had to see what all the fuss was about -- Moment is a great little restaurant. Very comfortable chairs and pretty nice decor. The food is good, and the portions are very big. Service was helpful and courteous. Had the salmon jalapeno rolls, which are delicious, and a couple of crepes. Everything's nicely presented and served quite quickly. They also have mini Lollipop Bakery cupcakes for dessert, which is great. Oh, and good music. I'd definitely come back!

Word to Moment Gastronomy's crepes. They got it going on. I dig the secret, back location at Sanlitun SOHO, but prime-time location somewhere else in the shopping complex would have been better.

The set lunch was a good deal—the sandwich was very nicely done, the salad was light and tasty, and the service was very attentive. I liked the place's cozy atmosphere. By far the highlight though was the music—they had a great soundtrack with a woman singing slow and pretty acoustic covers of famous songs like Radiohead's Creep, Britney Spears' Toxic, etc. And when I asked the manager about it, he gave me a free copy of their CD! Definitely a hidden gem in the basement of Sanlitun SOHO.

Better than Hercules across the street but without the cool ambiance. No crowd either. But what this location lacks in other areas it more than makes up in food. The sandwiches are among the best I've had in Beijing.

Probably the best crepe I had in Beijing. The texture is nicely done and the combination of the fillings are good, too. Good ingredient. Had some sweet and savory and they're all delicious! I didn't quite like their other desserts but I like how their puddings are not sweet.

Lunched at Moment recently on a weekday: a sweet little experience. The lunch set is good value - 62 kuai for soft drink + soup/salad + sandwich/crepe. Add ten kuai for a dessert crepe. Chef's pumpkin soup is truly lush - do wish it came with some bread and butter, but it was fine without. Tradizionale sandwich was good but personally disappointing - great bread, great cheese, great (more would have been nice) ham - and yellow American mustard. Would have absolutely loved something down Dijon way.
A generally tasty experience. Great wifi and atmosphere, service top-notch. Will make it back for the spicy chicken everyone's raving about.

Nice lunch set, delicious pumpkin soup and spicy chicken panini. Wish they had one next to my office (in Central Park Area) cuz I would then eat there almost every day!

Great place to enjoy a delicious sandwich! I was there Sunday evening with a friend, and we had a great time! Chef Ivan was very helpful when consulted for recommendations, and OMG those Salmon Rolls!!!! I literally woke up on Monday thinking about them! They were great, and that jalapeño dip (and keep in mind this comes from a Mexican...) is simply awesome! It reminds me a bit of a chipotle-cream mix we usually use with sushi... but the one at Moment is waaay better. Sandwiches and crepes are good too (at least the ones we tried...), but you HAVE to go and try those rolls... I did have a little bit of problems finding it at the beginning... so don't get lost: take the stairs to B1 that are right in the middle of the open plaza in Sanlitun SOHO, keep walking and turn left on the first little street... you'll find it right there!

Hard to find, comfortable and empty but only because it just opened its doors. Outside seating with lots to like if you wish to get away from the Sanlitun’s mass market and crowded cafes. Latte is expertly made. Desserts are available but didn’t try them. Wifi is fast (because nobody is there). I’ll be back

...a conceptually unique place, with a certain energy; a beautiful downtown corner with a touch of green. You can run into a familiar face and have an espresso followed by sparkling water over some soothing tunes in the background. Like it so much...

[HTML_REMOVED] Moment Gastronomy’s Serbian owner and chef Ivan Matic offers a broad range of Continental cuisine at his café—think savory and sweet crepes, standard sandwiches and a solid salad selection—rather than the Serbian-inspired fare at Kiosk. Service still has a room for improvement, but Moment is a great place for both chatty coffee afternoons and solid lunches. The vibe at this Sanlitun SOHO venue is relaxed, and the place is minimally decorated in greens and blacks, a color aesthetic that extends to the staff uniforms as well. The smoked salmon and cream cheese rolls (¥45) are an absolute delight when dipped into the accompanying homemade jalapeño spread. The Moment salad set (¥55) is a great value. You get three medium-sized bowls of mixed greens, each with different toppings: pear and blue cheese; smoked salmon; and radish, cherry tomatoes, olives and pine nuts. While the tenderly textured Ella crepe (¥37), filled with ham, cheese and mushrooms, is very good, the Gusto Perfetto sandwich (¥37) with cooked spinach, blue cheese and sour cream is overwhelmed by spinach. Delicious and rich crepes (¥39) with fillings like Nutella, almonds, crushed cookies and jam, are great sweets for sharing.
