A major competitor in the city's cupcake market, this little bakery also offers cakes and cookies. Catering and delivery is available for events. The cupcakes are beautifully presented, and not as sweet as those from the Lollipop Bakery.

Best cupcakes in Beijing - The Carrot Cake Cupcake was moist and spicy, not too sweet and not greasy and the cream cheese icing adds just enough sweetness. The Banana Cake Cupcake is an artful banana cake, not too moist, and a smooth chocolate icing that is sweet yet still rich. The Chocolate Cupcake is perfection!!!! The cake is rich enough by itself, and insanely moist. It has a wonderful chocolate flavor and the moist texture is topped with a rich and creamy chocolate butter-ganache frosting. The Red bean Cupcake is the weakest of the group. The frosting is spot on with a butter cream and cream cheese mixture that feels whipped and soft but the red bean cake though is faintly dry and lacks the delicious, rousing moistness of the other cupcakes.

Save your money and go elsewhere folks. I ordered a birthday cake for my husband and was thoroughly disappointed in not only the appearance of the cake (which ended up looking like something a 12 year old could have made) but also the taste. I told the bitter shop girl (who acted as if she was doing me a favor with every question she had to answer) that I wanted a red velvet base, but what we bit into last night tasted and looked nothing like it. After dishing out more than $100 USD for a 16 inch cake that was not even as tasty as a Duncan Hines cake-in-a box recipe, I am feeling like the biggest fool.
Ccsweets is clearly capitalizing on all the poor expat consumers in the area who can't read or communicate in Chinese - otherwise they would, and should definitely go elsewhere. In the future, I will hire a translator to find me another custom cake place and still spend less than I did for my disastrous cake at Ccsweets. Never again.
