This bakery makes delicious cupcakes decorated with brightly colored, blissfully sweet buttercreme frosting. Earl Grey is our favorite flavor, but owner Lexie Morris regularly introduces new flavors. As well as being sold at several venues in Beijing, the cupcakes are available for delivery, and they can be customized for special occasions.

Description

All the way from London, the Lollipop Bakery brings authentic cupcakes with moist rich cake and fluffy frosting to Beijing. Our signature cupcake is the Earl Grey, with its subtle bergamot frosting and sharp lemon frosting, but we have a whole host of other flavours. Keep an eye out for our monthly specials, and festive seasonal cupcakes (to stay informed, subscribe to our newsletter via our website www.LollipopBakery.cn)

Our cupcakes are freshly baked every day and decorated with a swirl of our famous buttercreme frosting. We are meticulous about every last detail, from the handmade sugar flower atop each cupcake to our beautiful iconic boxes. Cupcakes can be customized for special occasions, and can be ordered by phone, email or online via our website (please note that there is a 24hour advance notice required). Alternatively, you can find Lollipop’s cupcakes in Fisheye Coffee Shop in the Village (100m north of Coldstone Creamery), in Crepanini in Nali Patio, in Polesta Cafe behibd the Twin Towers, Moment Cafe in Sanlitun Soho or Zest.

I still like them though when they were new I thought they were more delicious.

I've had the cupcakes 3 times now and I haven't been overwhelmed although I really want to be. I find them to be a bit dry. They're not moist. The flavors are good and I like the icing, but they're too dry. The last time was the most disappointing. The cupcake hadn't risen properly and only rose about halfway up the cupcake holder. They sucessfully hid this by filling the rest with icing. For 20kuai that's inappropriate and unacceptable, I felt cheated. Doubt I'll buy them again, because I just don't trust the consistency of the product, and I feel really disappointed about that.

Lovely seasonal flavors and cute packaging, the only quibble is that some cupcakes overturned in transit, which smeared a good whack of frosting all over the inside.

The best cupcakes in Beijing. Celebrating my girlfriend's birthday at the office today, and the cupcakes are a staple item for the celebration. I would not go anywhere else!!!

I thought I wasn't much of a cupcake person. That was until I'd tried the ones from Lollipop Bakery. So far I've only tried the Vanilla and the Red Velvet ones but god, they are delicious. Sweet and soft. Like a little piece of heaven. And now I actually have to restrict myself to not go and buy one every day...

Agreed. These are the best cupcakes in Beijing, by far. Best flavors, most attractive. The other cupcakes in the city (which all came after Lollipop, btw) are at most almost as good, but this place has set the standard, and I have yet to taste anything that competes for my adoration.

I'm certainly one of Lollipop's biggest fans! As well as regular indulgence at Fish Eye, I've ordered cupcakes for parties 3 times this summer. They've always arrived on time, in perfect condition, and were a terrific hit with all the guests. What did Beijing do before Lollipop arrived on the scene?! I'm dismayed to read the negative reviews, because my experience has been 100% perfect.

Absolutely delicious! The red velvet is particularly tasty. Pricey by beijing standards but not by western standards.

Scrumptious' the word you're looking when talking about Lollipop Bakery cupcakes ! I ordered two dozens of the mini chocolate ones through their website and got a reply within the hour. Also great service ! I asked for them to be delivered but it was too far to bring them by motorbike. Lexie came up with different options to accommodate my schedule so I payed a little extra for a cab ride and the cupcakes were delivered at 4pm on the dot as I asked !

I absolutely recommend Lollipop Bakery ! The box is so cute and let's face it, the cupcakes are to die for !

I've never directly ordered from Lollipop - have only ever picked up a cupcake or two from Crepanini/ Fisheye. Being a red velvet fiend, I've tried about three of those and one chocolate. Two of those were very good, and the other two utterly disappointing. Two were moist, lush and hit-the-spot sweet, but the other two were dry and crumbly, with an audible sugar crunch in the frosting. Not sure whether it's the vendor selling older cupcakes, but either way, I'm now a bit wary of Lollipop cupcakes. Will still pick one up if I'm sporting a raging red velvet craving, but for 20 kuai, most of the time I'd rather just go to Comptoirs.

not worth 5 stars, there are better cupcakes in beijing. the cake texture was not smooth/ spongy enough, more to the muffin-ish texture (large air bubbles, harder dough).

the cream cheese icings are great though. for those looking for really good cupcakes try searching exquiste bakery, i tried theirs when they demonstarted cupcake making in Sanlitun One of the best cupcakes in my life

My partner and I absolutely looooooove the cupcakes from lollipop bakery -- and oftentimes we will forgo desserts at restaurants in favour of the cupcakes available in Sanlitun at Fisheye and Crepepanini =p. And we have often bought up their stash there when we have visitors to satisfy our own cravings. Our visitors in Beijing, coming from Australia and the UK all agree that its the best cupcakes they have tasted! Our particular favourite is the red velvet ones... YUMMY!!!

My partner who is a UK national celebrated his birthday this April. It was the first day of spring and we had a barbeque to celebrate his birthday in Beijing. To top it off, I ordered bespoke cupcakes from the Lollipop Bakery with the British flag in it -- and he LOVED the surprise! He said it was the best cupcake ever - as its his two favourite things rolled into one -- his favourite red velvet cupcakes and the United Kingdom :p

Ordering was easy and it was the best party ever which lasted until the early hours of the morning (no doubt due to the delicious sugar high we were on!). It certainly gave a significant event its own personal touch...

hmm.. writing this review just gave me another craving for more cupcakes... :p

terrible...too sweet and the dough was uncooked in two of the dozen i bought. Does not compare to the ones I have tried in Shanghai. Hard to get a really nice cup-cake in BJ..such a pity.

These cupcakes are incredible. I devour them each and every time. The red velvet cupcakes are my favorite with the richest, buttery, traditional cream cheese frosting...simply delectable! If you are craving the real deal and missing out on cupcakes from back home, make sure you order some from Lexie. The delivery service is always prompt and the sweet personalized messages you can write on the cupcakes make them even more special!

Just tried the red velvet cupcakes from Crepanini and it wasn't as good as I expected. The cupcakes were in poor shape (frosting lopsided) and for 20rmb, I'd rather whip up a batch myself which would of definitely tasted better. The red velvet cake itself was bland, but the cream cheese frosting was okay. These cupcakes cannot be compared with the popular bakeries in the U.S. like Sprinkles. You'll be disappointed.

I ordered a mixed dozen for a birthday and they were ok... ish. It was easy to order online and they arrived on time but I didn't get the nice box... It was just white and in really bad shape and the cupcakes weren't that good... too sweet for my taste and way too expensive for what you get. I wouldn't mind to pay that if they were amazing but its not the case...

i took the chocolate and pumpkin cupcakes at Fish Eye Cafe. honestly, i don't like it, 'cause it tastes too sweet!!! and i don't think ¥20 for a cupcake is worthy. but the box is so...so...so pretty!

Great to have Lollipop cupcakes on the scene! We ordered up a batch the other day, for no other reason than we wanted to treat ourselves at home. The toughest decision about the cakes is being able to decide which to order, they are all just so damn good! Not only that, but the design work of the boxes, adverts, website, etc are all just brillant. It feels a bit like Willy Wonka has stepped into Beijing, this time creating a magical cupcake experience, only this time, we all have a golden ticket in our hands! Great job to Lexie for her creativity, and for just creating a wonderful product!

Wow! I had the vanilla and the chocolate and i was truly impressed by the fantastic flavor and presentation. It's hard enough to make outstanding food, but to combine that with the exceptional service with a smile is what makes Lollipop Bakery the best. They have an eye for excellence and a passion for cupcakes that makes me want to buy from them again and again.

I ordered the red velvet cupcakes with less than 24 hours notice and was so happy when they were delivered to the restaurant i was celebrating my friends birthday out. Beautiful packaging and a cute little lollipop as well... i loved the little bits of glitter sprinkled everywhere...was a cute touch... my friend whos birthday it was , was visiting from NZ, she said they were the best red velvet cakes she had had.. It was my first time eating red velvet and they are now my favourite flavour... the cute happy birthday message on one of the cupcakes was very cute and not over the top... was very impressed...its great to have a good alternative to birthday cakes for birthdays in Beijing.

If you ever plan a children's party for 2-6 years old, you can never go wrong with Lollipop's mini cupcakes! We recently celebrated our son's 4th birthday by throwing him a children's party. We had baby as young as 5 months old to children as old as 5 years old. We had two types of cakes - one was a traditional chocolate 3 pounder and the other was a 2 dozen of blue frosting choc mini cupcakes with the number 4 on each one. I don't have to tell you how the reaction was when I opened up Lexie's colourful box - there was oohs and ahhs from adults as well as children. It was simply delightful! And even before I had the chance to take a photo of the cakes on the table for memory keeping, a few of the mini cupcakes were gone! The adults complained they were not fast enough - guess I have to do a pool party and just offer cupcakes and tea! Fit for the Queens and Kings!
