Created in the image of Chipotle, this casual Mexican restaurant offers delicious, reasonably priced burritos prepared with imported and homegrown ingredients. The guacamole also puts La Bamba’s version to shame.

Description

The burritos and guacamole are great. The food is fresh and and although the burritos could be bigger, they are still better than your other Wudaokou burrito options.

This Wudaokou restaurant offers refreshingly delicious burritos prepared with imported and homegrown ingredients all at reasonable prices. Created in the image of Chipotle, the burritos are a steal given the quality of ingredients, so take our suggestion and skip the tacos and salads.

[HTML_REMOVED] The burritos are far better than La Bamba’s. They are made fresh with crisp vegetables and wonderfully marinated meats, though they could be a little bigger. We enjoyed the chicken, shredded beef, steak (¥29), and the guacamole vegetarian (¥27) options. The chipotle adobo marinated chicken burrito (¥23) and the homemade spicy shredded beef burrito with 17 spices (¥25) are the best of the bunch—both pack a flavorful punch. While the chicken is locally sourced, the beef is imported and tastes great.

[HTML_REMOVED] Don’t skip the lightly salted corn chips with fresh salsa and homemade guacamole (¥17). Mexican avocados and Thai lime juice make the guacamole something to be proud of, and it puts La Bamba’s version to shame. While you can get the chips with just salsa for only ¥7, the guacamole is worth a little splurge. Quench your thirst with the mint lime tea (¥4), which is both bright and sweet with its fresh mint leaves picked from the owner’s garden.

[HTML_REMOVED] The venue is comfortable, modern and clean. While you have to order at the counter, the staff is professional and can answer questions about the menu. In terms of selection, The Avocado Tree is more limited than other Mexican restaurants in the city. But for Mexican-style fast food, especially in Wudaokou, you can’t do any better.

Went there today. Noticed they have cheese now great! They didn't have hot peppers though. The meal was over all good. but I wouldn't call it mexican if there is no spice.

The guacamole was quite good, but the burrito was quite bland. Not quite sure of the 'why' behind their very prominent 'American beef' proclamations, given that a) they're trying to do mexican, and b) American beef by-and-large kinda sucks, given their horrendous practice of corn-feeding. A blatant Chipotle rip-off, but still ultimately a welcome addition to the scene, given the lack of other options.

I eat here often, and I find it a nice, clean and quiet place to bring my lap top and snack on the fresh and chunky guac that they are so famous for. It seems that people like to complain about the size of the burritos, but I can never finish mine! I highly recommend the veggie burrito :) I will say though, the food is a little bland, but it this is redeemed by the sheer freshness of everything on the menu.

totally bland. the guacamole was so salty it tasted like they dropped the whole salt shaker in there. They also tried to serve us warm beer then when we complained and asked for our money back they wouldnt give it to us. Where's the cheese and chillis? Not even close to mexican food
