I enjoyed a great dinner at Vaastu last Friday evening. My girlfriend and I sat outdoors in Aakash, next to the waterfall and jazz music. It was simply an incredible ambiance - I felt like I wasn't in Guangzhou anymore. We ordered two starters, Vegetable Samosa and Lamb Chop tandoori. Both were served quickly and were yummy! My gf especially enjoyed the lamb. Then we got Chicken Tikka Masala, as recommended by the manager and a special Spanich dish called Palak Vaastu. The chicken was definitely a great choice. And to my surprise, I actually enjoyed the spinach, as well - not being a big veggie eater. This place is surely on my recommended list.

This resturant is quite well decorated. Food was good but the restaurant is empty. The chicken tikka is great but unfortunately my Chinese g'friend just couldn't take the smell and we had to leave.
Be prepared to spend as the owners are hovering around your table to order most of the expensive items but I think it's worth it. I would go back but without any Chinese friends.

Since I have just moved from Shanghai (spent the last 8 years there), down here to GZ. Im on a mission to find good dining and good "watering holes". I also plan to share my experiences on this site. Anyway, yesterday I visied Vaastu. It did take me some time to find, but when I did the reward was there. This resturant is quite cozy and well decorated. I felt harmony when I entered the place. The staff was friendly and English speaking, and took us right a way to our table. Since I had my fair share of Indian food in Shanghai, I knew what to order. We had Prawn Curry, Lamb Vindaloo, Chicken Tikka and a Masala dish plus Saphron rice. The food expeience was great, maybe a bit small portions, but very balanced and tasty. The Prawn Curry was totally awesome, the Vindaloo was as hot and spicy as it should be, made me sweat but oh so tasty. When it comes to pricing, maybe its a tad high compared with the size of each dish, but thats something to work on by this resturant. All and all I can warmly recommend this place for a quiet dinner in a nice atmosphere.

It's so great! i went there with my indian friends in January but last week we found it was temporarily closed so we went to there new branch near the South gate of the zoo. the manager told us that whether it would be open again can be decided within 2weeks.
hope it can open again. Here i have written down my review about the new branch of Vaastu: http://www.cityweekend.com.cn/guangzhou/listings/dining/indian/has/vaastu-a-date-with-india-bhoomi-branch/
