Authentic and Delicious Sichuanese Hot Pot at Spicy House

From shabu shabu to Dolar Shop to Mongolian hot pot, you can find hot pot of all types in this city. But anyone looking for the true spirit of hot pot has to check out this authentic Sichuanese place. Owned by celebrity TV director Tao Tao, Spicy House offers traditional Chongqing-style pots with a spicy, tallow-based broth (RMB58, jiugongge niuyouguo, 九宫格牛油锅). If you think you can handle spicy food, try the über-spicy beef balls (RMB42, jinbao niurouwan 劲爆牛肉丸) and think again. Our favorite is the handmade pork dumplings with egg pastry (RMB22, shougong danjiao, 手工蛋饺). They’re tender, flavorful and super spicy.
