Saturday's lineup at the Cotton Club is their busiest. The early set starts at 9:30, with accomplished Brazilian guitarist Tinho Pereria playing mesmerising sets with another guitarist and several percussionists until the house band starts up with the week's featured singer. The house band is accompanied by Chinese trumpet players Hu Dan Feng and Feng Yi Chen, students of the Shanghai Conservatory known for their unique sound that is part Chet Backer, part Miles Davis and part China-fresh. At around quarter to one, the evening winds down with a set from Matt "Cadillac" Cooper, known for his heavy, Chicago-style blues.
