  •   fattoro reviewed Moon's Steakhouse and Prime Rib > Swissotel Grand in Dining > Steakhouses

Excellent Service, excellent menu. They dont have serve the traditional steakhouse appetizer like cocktail shrimp or lobster bisque, they have more modern or "gastronomical" take on appetizers and presentatoin. The steaks was superb. Grilled to perfection and priced very well..perhaps 30% less from its competittors serving the same quality. I would highly recommend this, very suitable for a date or business ...

  •   leonlai reviewed Meadowbrook Equestrian and Rural Activity Center in Sports > Horseback Riding

Meadowbrook is a caring, loving place for a horse to be. I have been riding at meadowbrook since i was 7 from the first touch of my foot landing in the stable ground my whole feeling has changed into nature straight away. From that day onwards I fell in love with ponies and horses. The first day i arrived at ...

Thanks - they are not even 1 star...

  •   foodiedave reviewed Grub & Groove in Nightlife > Bars

    Whups, forgot to star.

  •   foodiedave commented on Grub & Groove in Nightlife > Bars

More appropriately called "Henry's", it's a bar. A simple, no-nonsense bar that's great for quiet drink with friends. My only problem with it is an inability to leave sober.

  •   fattoro commented on Haiku by Hatsune > Taojiang Lu in Dining > Japanese

service is mediocre.. just "blehhh," normally its OK but when it gets busy thats when the waiters totally lose track of everything. I link it for my blog because my reviews are normally 1-2 page single space... and theres a lot of good pictures so if ppl are interested then they can check it out if they want. But i'll ...

  •   foodiedave commented on Citylife Investment Company in Home & Office > Serviced Apartments

Ah, I see. That sucks. Star rate them down when you comment! (and get a lawyer)

You didn't get your terms in writing? Silly. I suggest you star rate this place to make your hate more visible to other potential victims.

  •   ytsyts commented on Citylife Investment Company in Home & Office > Serviced Apartments

I got the terms in writing, however, it is up to them to interpret the terms to their advantage. On top of that, they will say the amount is too small, and so they won't pay me the interest they owed me due to late return of my return deposit.

The service did not improve at all, after many false promises even from the GM. Everything is interpreted to their advantage. My rent deposit had to be recalculated a couple of times after we objected and point out to them the terms in the lease agreement. And they have no recollection of the terms agreed upon. We notified the GM ...

  •   kingmacinchina commented on Shanghai Brewery > French Concession in Nightlife > Bars

The music is way too loud at this place on a Wednesday night. I can't even talk to my friends and they are sitting next to me. I was trying to enjoy my mini burgers which were really good but before I could finish eating them I was soon to realise that it was a salsa night.. Sports bars should ...

  •   mbjumago reviewed The Grumpy Pig in Dining > Vietnamese

AWESOME! Went for lunch a few weeks ago and had the pork street toast (which is to die for.. so delish) and the ramen (tasty but nothing to write home about). Great place to get work done during the day if you have some free time, very relaxed and welcoming.

  •   narsfweasels commented on Haiku by Hatsune > Taojiang Lu in Dining > Japanese

Hi Fattoro, most people who complain about this place complain about the service, what's your take on the service? And for the love of god, stop linking to your blog. Post a full review on this site or don't bother posting.

  •   fattoro reviewed Haiku by Hatsune > Taojiang Lu in Dining > Japanese

Its not Japanese, so lets not compare it to the likes of Oyama, Kappo Yu, Hisago, Miga ect. Moving forward, lets compare it to restaurant that serves california rolls in the west coast then Haiku does a really good job. They do the best job. Make sure to try the Alex Foie Roll and Motto Roll Ah. The service is ...

  •   shombz commented on Lost Heaven Yunnan Folk Cuisine > Xuhui in Dining > Yunnan

I had the worst experience at Lost heaven a couple of weeks ago myself. We reserverd a table for 15 and when we arrived no table was available , they made us wait and they didnt even apologise , the girls in the reception were quite rude!! and they gave us 2 tables of like 8 people each. We were ...

  •   sottovoce reviewed Lost Heaven Yunnan Folk Cuisine > Xuhui in Dining > Yunnan

I rarely feel strongly enough for or against a restaurant to post a review online, but my experience here really takes the biscuit. It took a full 20 minutes to get my drink. Their excuse – the tea was made on the third floor (and since I was on the first floor, it presumably took 10 minutes to navigate each ...

  •   ziklu reviewed Urban Thai in Dining > Thai

Urban Thai offers a nice environment to enjoy well elaborated Thai food. The most accurate adjective to describe this place would be: Modest. Environment is sober, prices are fair, food is tasty although the presentation could be improved. There is nothing very outstanding but It is still a very suitable place to spend for a date or any calm and ...

  •   lky commented on Citylife Investment Company in Home & Office > Serviced Apartments

I totally agreed with all of you here. This company is extremely good in telling lies and taking advantages of its customer. They will misinterpret the lease agreements unless you are ready to have good lawyer to deal with them. DO NOT SIGN THE LEASE WITH THEM.

  •   beixuejune reviewed Focus Club in Nightlife > LGBT

The place used to be more popular , now there is a few lesbians only here and then. The highest chance to not end up alone is probably on Fridays.

  •   beixuejune reviewed Babala in Nightlife > LGBT

Nice place , not too expansive , but not a lot of people. The bar is for girls only with sofas and a dance floor downstairs and billiards and a bar on the second floor. The very cute staff is definitely a reason to check this place out ;)

  •   sjeannie reviewed Issimo in Dining > Italian

Issimo is hands down my favorite Italian restaurant in town. I've searched far and wide (into Pudong) for a good pizza joint, and pizza doesn't get better than at Issimo. If you think Da Marco has good pizza, don't talk to me. If you like Marzano, ok, I like Amatriciana, too, but Issimo's is better. If you like Alla Torre ...

  •   sjeannie reviewed CaliBurger in Dining > American

Inspired by In-N-Out, Caliburger is not a gourmet burger place. Still, we are in China, and to get ingredients that are at least somewhat up to par is more difficult a feat here than in California. So the price differential? Understandable, especially given that other burger joints ("premium burgers") around town charge about 50% more than Caliburger. And honestly, Caliburger's ...

  •   frosties commented on glo London in Dining > Global Cuisine

OMG.. just called them a min ago at 2140h and got frustrated with the first person who picked up the call. I tried speaking English as I was greeted with English. @ pasarq, I was there last night as well- we were the first table of 3 on the right. Anyways.. Overall a good concept and food was good (not superb). I felt the choices were limited and the theme of "pork" wasnt there. Couldnt taste the prok in the spring rolls, pho had all beef ingredients and no "pork, the ...

Had to return the soup TWICE back to the kitchen. 1. they gave me the wrong soup 2. The corn soup was TOTALY bland (tasted like hot corn wanter), it was digusting. •   nina_g commented on The Grumpy Pig in Dining > Vietnamese

Went to Grumpy Pig and LOVED it, really cool place. We tried lots of dishes from the menu and everything was great!! (although I would like to see more selection of food next time) Also the service is super and the ABC chef is cute!

  •   fattoro reviewed Mistral in Dining > Spanish

Love the intimate setting. The second floor dining room was a little cold. Service was decent but our waiter was very absent minded. Food choice was priced OK but the Spanish cuisine here is a long way behind El Willy. A lot of misses with only a few basic things done ok. The fish had so many bones that i ...

  •   carguy2 reviewed Boxing Cat Brewery > Fuxing Lu in Dining > American

If you love being ignored, having to get out of your seat to get a server to come to your table (all through the visit), then this is the place for you. Unfortunately, this is the norm. I returned to Boxing Cat tonight because friends wanted to meet there. Against my better judgement, I went only to be thoroughly aggarvated ...

  •   shanghailove reviewed Osteria in Dining > Italian

We've passed Osteria several times and it looks so cozy that we finally decided to stop in for dinner one Friday night. We didn't have reservations, but a nice Canadian-Chinese guy seated us downstairs, in a private little nook by the window. They had a good Duvel special going on (buy 1 beer, get an oyster) and I have to ...

  •   bill_greyskull reviewed Bella Mia in Dining > Italian

Great pizza indeed. I had a white pizza with ham, mushrooms, arugula and parmesan (called sfizioso I think) - light and delicious. Loved it. The dining room was somewhat chilly, but it was a particularly cold evening... Reservations are recommended as the place was at capacity on my Saturday night visit.

  •   bulldogshanghai commented on Bulldog Shanghai in Nightlife > Bars

Hey folks, I just took on the manager's job here at Bulldog and I'm looking for some feedback on how we can improve the place. I'm looking for suggestions about what food, drinks, music and events you'd like which would improve the place. Judging by some of the previous comments I've got some work to do, but I'll do whatever ...

  •   naughtybusinessman commented on Dolce Vita in Dining > Italian

Went to this joint last night and it's still rubbish. 108 RMB for three thin slices of mozzarella, an undressed 'rocket salad' and 5 strips of ridiculously salty prosciutto. I complained and the vegetarian waitress assured me 'it is supposed to be like that'....comforting! The house wine at 68 RMB was about two mouthfuls and they charge 40 RMB for ...

  •   millybutton reviewed Busy Bee Education in Family > Schools: Pre-K

Busy Bee is a great little school. The teachers there are wonderful, both my daughter and I love them. The staff is easy to talk to and connect with. I feel that they genuinely care about your child and what is best for him or her. The program is great! My daughter attended this school and in a few months ...

  •   fattoro reviewed Good Hot Pot in Dining > Hot Pot

Good Hot Pot is probably one of the best Hot Pot Places in Shanghai. It leans more towards cantonese version of hot pot serving won tons, wagyu beef, yan jiao. Very good service and upscale decoration. However your paying about 400-500 per person. Is good service, high quality ingredient and flavorful broth worth all that? Well its you to be ...

  •   shpgg reviewed Baker & Spice > Shanghai Center in Dining > Cafés

Maybe a year ago the staff were having fun, but on each visit I've found the service to be a big let-down. It's a popular and busy location but the queue is a mess and the zucchini cake was stale.

  •   shpgg reviewed Mi Thai in Dining > Thai

Food quality was better than expected. The best compliment I can give for a Thai restaurant in Shanghai is that the dishes were not over sweetened! I enjoyed a delicious tom yum soup with the full balance of spicy and sour. The portions are small but finely tuned for the taste buds.

  •   shpgg reviewed Greek Taverna > Yueyang Lu in Dining > Mediterranean

I was disappointed with the overall food quality on a recent visit. The dolmades and spanakopita both seemed to have been hanging around in the kitchen for too long, and the spinach dish was over salted. The best dishes were the eggplant dip, deepfried zucchini balls and the beef souvlaki. With only one main dish, shared metzes and wine/beer the ...

  •   shpgg reviewed Nolita in Dining > Italian

The lunch set will give you a chance to try the basics for under RMB100 per person. Decent service and quality. The upstairs seating was brighter than on the first floor.
