Let me start with the positives:
1) Great ambience and setting 2) The Chocolate Nemesis dessert was completely to die for - the 20 minutes of waiting time was completely justifiable. Yum yum yum
Right. The negatives.
1) Service what? Doesn't exist. If dishing out a grumpy face classifies as "service", then you have another thing coming.
2) There were 3 of us who wanted to sit on the sofas (we were just there for desserts) and were abruptly shown to the normal dining table because a "minimum spend" was required. Come on. It's a Wednesday night. Not many customers. In fact, it was just us and 2 more smaller groups. So why couldn't we sit on the sofas that were not occupied the entire time we were there? Ridiculous.
I'll definitely go back there - if only just to have the Chocolate Nemesis. I just won't expect anything more.

i went there once for desserts. The desserts was great and cost around 50rmb/dessert.
Its an upscale restaurant with poor service. There were 4 people on my table and we ordered 3 desserts and the waitress urged us to order 1 more, but we rejected and she mentioned that she would only give 3 spoons.. I was like "What?" service was terrible....

lapiz lazuli , it is a great restaurant with great atmosphere and great food. i've been there for 3 times. but i had a really bad experience on the 3rd time when i went there. i was with my country mate, they took the dessert, while me i didn't take any, because i was full. and then the waiter said, everybody MUST order 1 dish, if not, they will give us 20 minutes to stay in the restaurant. what a "AMAZING" rule. i've been travelling almost all around the world and tried their restaurant, and i used to work in 5*hotel, and fine dining, but i never seen this kind of rule in my whole life.. im dissapointed. i will not recommend this restaurant to my friends, and all of you, if you just accompany yourfriends or your colleague

more gross food in the french concession! this place is fronting in a big way. half cooked penne, oily/watery asian dishes, whitebread sandwiches and limp fries...come spent a bunch of money for poor service and worse food!

Great location, decent decor, but the food, drinks, coffee and tea selection is below expected standard. Service is unattentive and inexperienced.

The food is forgetable, the prices are way too high (you are paying for the villa) and the service decent. The gift shop downstairs is a waste of time. Don't waste your money here.
