All-you-can-drink nights, a rotating circuit of DJs, live music and its unique, cave-like interior make this underground bar well-known among young expats. Although service can be slow and the quality of the cocktails can be patchy, the price is worth the wait.

100RMB all you can drink when I want. OF course it was from I think 10pm-2am. And Of course the bar is packed and incredible hard to get any service during those hours. Atmosphere was okay, too many foreigners for my liking, music was okay.

Good place for a night out. Open Bar is alright, interior and design is very chilled and relaxing, music is variating from Old School Hip Hop, Raggae, Nu Disco, Disco House to live performances and such. Table reservations are free of charge (just call early enought to get on because on Fridays this place is packed). I have lived in Shanghai for 10 years and have been in Mural every here and then and I was never disappointed.

Ended up here twice in a week. The first visit was great, nice atmosphere and music. The second trip was strange - lots of very very drunk people which isn't so fun when you are not one of them.

The interior is nice, but kinda full of young international kids who usually have to sneak out to be there. Not a fan of the open bar, drinks are too sugary and watered down.

Where You Drink, Issue 9 Lucas Pignaton

When I go out, I look for good music, great people and, of course, good drinks. On Fridays, I love Mural Bar. They have an open bar for RMB100, a great interior and really good live music. On other nights I enjoy the salsa and samba music there, which makes me feel like I'm back in Brazil. They also have great wine specials and people there are always friendly.

This place is amazing! Truely international with an incredible mix of Asians, Europeans and Americans from North and South, this was the highlight of my short visit in Shanghai. Salseros y salseras from all continents got their groove on in this lower level, excellently decorated ancient buddhist shrine gone nightclub. You can rent a hookah and cozy up in one of the corner grottos if you prefer to sit instead of dance (before you get too excited, you're smoking apple or strawberry flavored tobacco pellets, not hashish). And when the stunningly gorgeous belly dancer emerged with her serpentine companion, it was riveting indeed. If you want a departure from the ordinary, this is the place to go.
