With dim lighting, lots of red plush and nightly live jazz, this live music haven gets the 50s/60s Parisian vibe just right. High tables, a comfortable upstairs lounge and circular balcony emphasize the performers and stage. A slightly older crowd enjoys the relatively pricey drinks while taking in some of the city's finest musicians.

You DO have to PAY to play however. And sometimes it is totally worth doing that. Sitting upstairs is one of those times.

LOVE this place. Especially the plush red seating upstairs. The talent that plays here is just amazing. Great drinks and food is alright. Great place to unwind.

Weird, that didn't happen to me the time I went there (which was a wednesday or something). Maybe they charge minimum per table on weekends? The music was pretty good, the drinks just okay. But there's no other place doing what they are doing.

Fridays nights- laino good music, 30 RMB entrance. But if you are not willing to spend at least 500RMB- DON"T GO!! Or you might end up standing, even the tables are not occupied.That happens every time: even it is not full, and you want to sit at the table, waiter comes saying that you need to spend 500 RMB (small table and 1500RMB sofa upstairs) if you want to sit there. I even talked to MANAGER-REBECCA. Who told us that if we don't want to pay, we should "GO TO ANOTHER CLUB". I don't think this is the proper manager-client behavour. Rude, bad. We left disgusted... Although I love the music, I WILL NOT COME BACK. I won't risk another ruined evening.

It was a boring night of dinner at home and we decided to head out for some drinks. My boyfriend suggested JZ club as they are having a performance on Saturday night.
Didn't really like the club as it is not well ventilated. Jazz is not bad though, the musicians are really talented.
Food wise, we ordered some finger food and cocktails. It was just so-so.. Also quite disappointed with the service, the waiter insisted for payment before the food arrived.
Still prefer CJW at Xintiandi for both ambiance and drinks.

One of my favourites. Live music is always great, with different styles (jazz, vocal jazz, gypsy jazz, latin...). A very mixed crowd, despite the rather expensive drinks. That's the price to pay for their usual no-cover policy (there are exceptions for certain bands, though).

"I really enjoy places where you come in and you know almost everyone–especially important after a hectic day at work. One of these places is 570. The music and drinks there are always great and it feels very much like home with a cozy atmosphere and many other French people around. If I feel like great live jazz music, I head to JZ Club where the jazzy tunes make me wanna dance or sometimes simply sit and enjoy one of the club's whiskeys. For a cozy and unique atmosphere, I also really like Yin Yang Bar. Being one of the first bars in Shanghai, this place certainly has some history to it and the interior, especially in the basement, seems like a set out of a movie waiting for you to be the star. Their drinks are great and the mix of people is always interesting."

great live music went on a friday, colombian jazz band was playing and definitely knew what they were doing. awesome show. the place is a little small so get there early (see befre 9:30) or you risk sitting upstairs. drinks are a little on the expensive side, but worth it cosidering the quality performance.
This place is packed most night , get there early. Great drinks , bartenders after you get their attention remember your creations . Prices are good value for money, music is exciting, and all seats , or standing room areas give you a good view of the stage. After your night here, right outside is a great little cart to fill your craving . Well worth the trip, far better than the bund, live areas, where prices are higher as 9 times out of 10 pay for the view. Well done here to the management of JZ.
