Without a budget limit for the pavilion, a team of Chinese and Saudi architects created the massive “moon boat” structure that is surrounded by water and desert elements. A “Friendship Garden” houses both Chinese trees and date palm trees from Saudi Arabia. In addition to natural aspects, the pavilion also boasts the world’s largest 3D IMAX screen on which short cultural films will be shown.

The 3D IMAX screen is effectively impressive and the colors are beautiful but as for many others pavilions, I was not impress by the content of the short movies (sceneries, under the sea, space....) but the way the public move and it is designed, this contents' choices was better than telling a real story. It is a very huge gigantic semi-circular room, as tall as a church maybe, and it seems as you are surrounded by the sky on a summer night...We are queuing on a running walk that go around automatically the semi-circular room, maybe for 10 minutes. As we are moving in the same time as the movie’s images are moving and that you can’t yourself move, you can feel a little bit dizzy... At the end of the walk, you are on the roof that offer a great view, and can walk all the way around. To go down, you walk in a very circular corridor with open space in the middle…this is nice and children were enjoying it, running as fast as they could downstairs  (after enduring the queuing outside so many hours, they certainly needed it)
