With a design based on Beijing’s Water Cube, the “Oil Cube” shimmers in many colors during the night. This pavilion educates visitors on exactly how petroleum is incorporated into every aspect of our lives, how it is involved in clothing, eating and living. The exterior of the pavilion is made of petroleum-based products and the distinctive smell of petroleum is emitted from the building, ensuring visitors become aware of the existence of this pavilion when walking through the vicinity. We’re sure this industry will do its best to convince us of its vital existence in the midst of an Expo where almost all other exhibits convert to other sources of energy.
